Founded in 2004 by Barbara Ronchetti, Island Alpaca Company began with the purchase of 19 acres and an antique post-and-beam barn originally from Export, PA. Over two years, the barn was meticulously reassembled, pastures were cleared, and fencing installed. What started as a small herd of eight alpacas has grown into a thriving community of over 50 Huacaya alpacas, each with its own unique personality and lineage.
Island Alpaca's breeding program focuses on producing alpacas with superior fleece quality, diverse colors, and excellent conformation. The farm's commitment to ethical breeding practices and animal welfare is evident in their daily care routines and the herd's overall health. All alpacas are registered with the Alpaca Registry, Inc. (ARI) , ensuring their pedigrees are well-documented and traceable.
